Think carefully about what and how much you need each time you shop to prevent unnecessary hoarding. This will make it easier to eat all the food you need in a timely manner. You can also add more variety and anticipation to your grocery shopping.
Look at the inside quality
Ugly does not mean bad: In supermarkets, food is thrown away that customers no longer buy, even though it is still edible. Whether it's crooked cucumbers or ugly bananas, those who take action here usually save the fruit and vegetables from being thrown away.
Try food sharing
If you have too much food left over and don't know what to do with it, there are various foodsharing providers. With foodsharing you can easily pass on food. In addition to official contact points, you can also ask neighbors or friends if they would like to share a week's shopping.
Trust your senses
An expired best-before date discourages many consumers from eating a product. However, it should not be confused with the expiration date. If the smell, color or taste of the food has not changed, you can usually still use it without hesitation.

If you don't eat it all, freeze your food, or use your leftovers to make other food.
