Dr. Frank Rasche is a soil ecologist with more than 25 years of research experience, including extensive work with CGIAR. His work focuses on soil health and its links to sustainable farming, combining scientific research with practical, demand-driven approaches to develop solutions that respond to farmers’ needs and can be scaled across farming systems. He works with partners across research, policy, development, and practice to address key farm-level constraints and advance integrated solutions for sustainable agriculture. A strong focus of his work is ensuring that agricultural innovation is inclusive and gender-responsive, recognizing that farmers face different constraints and do not have equal access to resources, knowledge, and decision-making. He therefore seeks to strengthen the agency of women and other underserved groups and ensure that their perspectives help shape the design, testing, and scaling of agricultural solutions. Frank is also a Professor of Soil Ecology at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, and holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from BOKU University in Vienna, Austria.
