Côte d'Ivoire constitutes the largest global cocoa producer, yet half of its smallholders live below subsistence level. GIZ introduces people committed to fair and sustainable cocoa in Côte d'Ivoire and Germany. Until Easter 2022, a new episode of the multimedia story is published every fortnight.

‘Ivorians have only started consuming cocoa in the last two years. Cocoa consumption in Côte d’Ivoire is still fairly low considering that the country is the world´s number one producer of cocoa', explains Hervé Dobinou, head of the chocolate factory ChocoPlus, which produces and markets cocoa products locally. His start-up works together with the Green Innovation Centre, which GIZ has set up in Côte d'Ivoire on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
